New Year’s Eve Beach House Ball
See in 2020 in style with live swing, brass and bass from the Freek & Kit show, all the way from London! Dress in your best 20’s fancy dress and dance your way into the New Year at the Beach House Ball in Widemouth Bay. Tickets are £45 per person and the event is from 7pm until 1am. There is also an epic 1920s banquet and a rum and gin cocktail bar. If you’re staying in Bude this New Year, be sure to book this event!
New Year’s Day Social Swim
Why not brave the chilly Bude Sea Pool on New Year’s Day? The event will be taking place from 8am – 5pm and the event organisers will be taking donations to maintain the upkeep of the pool to ensure it is safe for users throughout the year.
Looe
Fancy dress and Fireworks
Looe is a fantastic place to spend New Year, with an exciting feel throughout the town. Dress up in fancy dress and take to the streets, filled with thousands more people in fancy dress! There will be plenty of bars and pubs open in the town to get you feeling merry! At midnight, head towards the Banjo Pier for a spectacular fireworks display. The firework display is free but donations can be made on the night to ensure the display can go ahead next year.
New Year’s Day Dip
Take part in the annual tradition of the New Year’s Day dip at Looe Beach! It starts at 11am and there will be hot drinks and mince pies waiting for you after you’ve been in the sea. Dress in whatever you fancy – whether it’s a swimsuit, a wetsuit or fancy dress! If you could also bring any change you have, as the event is raising money for the fantastic Looe Lifeboat station.
Padstow
Padstow is a great place to spend the New Year if you’d prefer a quieter start to 2020. Away from the crowds and hustle and bustle that New Year’s Eve brings, cosy up with your loved ones indoors and watch the fireworks on TV. There will also be pubs and bars open in the town and also a small firework display above the harbour at midnight if you’d rather venture out to celebrate the New Year.

Beach Guardian Beach Clean – Porthcothan Bay

Start the New Year doing something positive for the environment! Take part in the New Year beach clean with the fantastic Beach Guardian gang on Porthcothan Bay. The organisers will provide all equipment needed, so just bring yourselves along and get cleaning! It will be taking part between 3-4pm and the organisers have requested people to wear Christmas fancy dress. Hot drinks will also be provided by the Tredrea Inn after the beach clean!
