Portreath Beach

Yet another lovely Cornish Beach, Portreath is a popular family beach with a fair expanse of soft sands and clean waters situated next to the harbour.

The waters are quite sheltered and the beach is cleaned daily in the summer, making it a perfect place to take the kids for a paddle.

It is also a beach that is popular with surfers and bodyboarders but generally they come when the tide is high and the swells are big.

There are clifftop walks nearby which bring fantastic views of the beach and the seas that lap it’s shore.

All in all it is a great beach with room for everything, surfing, swimming, football, volleyball, frisbee, exploring or just for some relaxing and sun soaking.

There is a shop, pub and cafe very close by if you fancy an ice cream when the heat gets too much.

Portreath is not far from the historic town of Redruth which features a shopping street, cinema, public houses and restaurants that may be the perfect end to your day out.
