Doc Martin - The start of the end. Filming had begun in Cornwall

An Xmas tree turned up in Portwenn (Port Isaac) for the filming of the final season of Doc Martin.

Select Cornwall, a holiday business located in north Cornwall, shared behind-the-scenes photos ahead of filming for the tenth and season of Doc Martin. See below.

A Christmas tree was seen on the set, possibly for the Christmas special episode that has been highly anticipated, a spokesperson said a possible revelation or surprise could be in the mix. Not long now until we finally see Martin Clunes, they added.

Viewers who saw the final episode of series nine will know that it ended on a cliff-hanger as Doc Martin revealed he’d quit as a GP after a series of farcical assessments by the regulator and the Doc’s inability to get over his phobia of blood.

Martin Clunes told ITV’s This Morning in October 2020 that the Doc could return to the stethoscope.

Asked by host Eamonn Holmes if Doc Martin had quit due to his fear of blood and if he’d get back behind the stethoscope, he said: “Not entirely, I mean he does have that problem with blood and he did let himself down a bit, but rather than be put through an exam by the General Medical Council he just pulled the rug on it, he was fed up with it.”

And hinting at what viewers might see in series 10, he said: “But I’m guessing he’s going to get back in the saddle. But, yes he will, he will. We’ll find a way.”
