Cornwall’s top restaurants of 2017, according to the Trencherman’s Guide

The 25th edition of the Trencherman’s Guide has revealed the best places to wine and dine at in Cornwall. Establishments which meet the high criteria of the guide have been included on the gourmet dining list, which celebrates the most extraordinary food in extraordinary places across Cornwall and the rest of the South West.

The places that foodie’s visiting beautiful Cornwall will want to put at the top of their wish list include:

Best for intimate dining

Langmans Restaurant, Callington – Be spoiled by the tasting menus that contrast and delight at Anton and Gail Buttery’s 24-cover restaurant.

Best for glamour

Hotel Tresanton – Olga Polizzi’s design-led escape on the Roseland Peninsula makes for a very glam dining experience. The Mediterranean-style dining room and gorgeous gardens are perfect for eating, drinking and contemplating life.

Best for views

Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall, Watergate Bay – Watch surfers bobbing the Atlantic Ocean waves while dining on delicious modern Italian cuisine on the north coast of Cornwall. Who knows, you might go for a dip yourself afterwards?

Best for TV Chef

The Seafood Restaurant, Padstow – Every foodie will have heard of this one. Rick Stein’s original outfit in Padstow has some of the best Cornish dishes, serving up locally sourced food. You might even see the man himself!

Best for history

The Wellington Hotel, Boscastle – One of Cornwall’s oldest coaching inns, the 16th-century hotel has seen all sorts of people pass through its doors from King Edward VII to Thomas Hardy. Overlooking the harbour, the hotel is family and dog-friendly too.
