Cornwall records biggest waves in England as storm hits

Very Strong winds gusting up to gale force overnight and into the morning have brought the largest waves in the country to Cornwall.

Offset by the brilliant sunshine, the stormy seas created a beautiful spectacle of choppy water. However, people are advised to stay safe and keep their distance if out watching the waves.

The largest waves – from data excluding Wales and Scotland – were recorded on the north coast of Cornwall.

At Perranporth, Channel Coastal Observatory recorded wave heights on Sunday morning at 5.3 metres, or just over 17 feet!!!
