Cornwall lights and events 2018 best places to visit this Christmas

Cornwall’s Christmas 2018 is going to sparkle here are the best places to see the lights and events around Cornwall the whole family can come together and enjoy

Truro

Truro kicked off Christmas with their City of lights which illuminated the streets of Truro on the 21st of November but don’t worry if you missed it there’s still plenty of reason to visit the city the Christmas. Truro’s Christmas market, open all day Wednesdays and late night shopping from the 28th November and every Saturday all day till the 22nd December. Wednesday 28th November Truro’s reindeer procession will be a magical experience for the little ones, where they will see real reindeer and Father Christmas in Victoria Square from 6 pm.

St Austell

On the 27th November, St Austell will switch on their Christmas lights from 4 pm – 6 pm. Bring the family to enjoy the activities. there will be a Victorian merry go round and farther Christmas will be in the market house plus live music.

Falmouth

Falmouth starts their celebrations on the 29th November where the local school children will parade through the town to The Moor for the Christmas lights switch on. At 5 pm the children and local groups meet at Events Square. 5:40 pm the parade heads through the town to the Moor. 6:15 pm the children sing songs and carols. At 7 pm the Christmas lights switch on.

Bodmin

The festive fun starts in Bodmin on the 30th November with an evening of special events kicking it all of at 6 pm with the community lantern procession starting at the old library. At 6:15 pm will be a projection light show which will be well worth a watch on the towns Fore Street clock tower, the lights will repeat on loop until 8 pm. At 6:45 pm the lights switch on with Pirate FM’s Neil Caddy on Mount Folly. There will also be a children’s disco from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm.

Newquay

On the 30th November Newquay turn on their Christmas lights starting at 4 pm with live music and entertainment on the high street followed by a performance from Oll an Gwella at 5:30 pm. At 6:15 pm Joe Hurworth will be performing at Marcus Hill and to top the evening off at 6:30 pm Newquay will be holding its biggest lantern parade yet.
